The 3rd Annual Madison County Fire Academy is scheduled Friday, April 23rd through Sunday the 25th. This year, training focuses on IC/Communications, Pumping, Fire Attack, RIT, Having fun, and Learning at your own pace. For more information please visit the newly added MCFA tab.

Winter Safety
Heating equipment is a leading cause of home fires during the months of December, January, and February. When exposed to extreme cold temperatures, your body loses heat faster than it can be produced. Hypothermia and frostbite are common extreme cold hazards. Take extra precautions to keep warm inside, outside, and while traveling in your car. Before you step outside, use this Wind Chill Chart to better understand how quickly cold can become too cold.

Madison County open burning ended Monday, November 30, 2009. No open burning is permitted in Madison County or most other counties in Southwestern Montana until March 1, 2010, unless burners get specific permission from the state Department of Environmental Quality.
